You can repurpose many of the household materials you use, from paint to toilet paper. Repurposed items are a great way to save money, save time and make your home more stylish.
Some of these ideas can be done quickly, while others require more effort. They are all designed to help you make more of the things that you already own.
1. Repurpose carpet into a furniture slide
This idea is a great way to make lifting furniture easier. Slide a small piece of carpet between the legs of an item of furniture then push the carpet across the floor.

2. Repurpose old magazines as window muntins
If you want to protect your windows from damage caused by water, spritz the edge of a magazine and rub along the glass. This will ensure that the paper is laid flat and prevents stains.
3. Repurpose a Gift Card as a Marker for Plant Seeds
If your children want to create their own plant markers then cut a gift certificate in half with pinking cutters and punch an hole in the corner. This is perfect for marking plants that come with a small packet of seeds.
4. Repurpose a sheet of dryer paper as an insect repellent
The dryer sheets can be used to dust furniture and deter biting bugs when placed in a pocket, or even under a baseball cap. Also, they can be used as a way to wipe down spills from outdoor surfaces or prevent bugs from taking residence in dirty rooms or crawl spaces.
5. Repurpose a filter coffee as a spray bottle
Use a coffee filter that has been doubled to spray glass cleaner. This will ensure no lint is left behind. This helps to remove stains and lint without leaving streaks.

6. Repurpose your sock for a scrubbrush
Have a few extra pairs of socks? Use them to scrub the bathroom. This is a great tool to use to clean soap scum off of sinks or mirrors.
7. Repurpose plastic bags as mitts for applying furniture wax or polish
Use plastic bags as a way to spread furniture polish and wax. You can do this on top of a bench or table to give it a smooth surface.
